WIDIN is a young and upcoming stallion. He is large and jet black in colour. He is very well balanced and shows enormous jumping ability. His sire, WODAN, is an old type Hannoverian stallion who made himself a name in the international jumper ring under Franke Sloothaak in Grand Prix as well as the Puissance. WODAN's sire, WINNETOU, is one of the most important and extremely prolific sire lines that have produced countless international and Olympic show jumpers. It is remarkable that the jumping ability continues through each successive generation. Like the stallion WINNEBAGO, who was exported to New Zealand, he produced such high class horses as Mark Todd's show jumper BANGO and Andrew Nicholson's eventer TEMPO. WINNETOU produced the stallion WITZBOLD, who sired such outstanding Grand Prix dressage horses as OLIVER, WITZSTEIN and MOSAIC. WINNETOU's sire FERDINAND also sired such horses as FERDL, a gold medal winner for Alwin Schockemöhle and MEHMED, gold medal winner for Dr. Reimer Klimke, WENDEKREIS and WEDEKIND. Also on his sire's side he traces back to DER LÖWE XX whose progeny excelled in every aspect of the sport. The best known are DER LORD and LIOSTRO. Although DER LÖWE XX sired only five approved sons, they went on to found a strong and sought after line through LUGANO I, also prominent in many Belgian pedigrees, LUGANO II and more recently through LANTAN, who is proving himself to be an outstanding dressage sire, LYSANDER and LEGAT all are owned by Celle.
His dam is %SALONIKI%, a mare by the legendary moving stallion %SALUT%, who goes back to the dressage stallion SULTAN by PATRON who also produced the Rheinland approved stallion PASTERNACK.
