DON OPAL's sire DON CAMILLO is a majestic older imported gentleman, he had a distinguished carrier in the dressage ring.His sire is the famous DON CARLOS the founder of the mainly jumping D line. He is the sire of the Celle state owned stallions DAKAR, DON JUAN, DON PEDRO and DROSSELKLANG I and II. His best known progeny are DANIELA, she finished 3rd at the European Championship of young riders in 1987 ridden by U. Kirchhoff and DIAVOLO 4 who competed very successfully under P. Schmitz in National and International show jumping competitions. This line has a very large family that is extremely successful and highly respected in breeding terms. Thomas Fuches' DOLLAR GIRL by DYNAMO is rated as one of the 1990's best show jumpers. She originally competed for Switzerland, but now is ridden by Nick Skelton for Great Britain. Also, very well known is the mare DIVA that is competing under Jay Hays for Canada and was a member of the Canadian Olympic team in Sydney, Australia On his dam's side he goes back to WEDEKIND one of the three most popular stallions of the W line. WENDEKREIS, WEDEKIND and WINNETOU, this line is remarkable for its jumping ability that can be traced through out each generation. WEDEKIND sired the stallion WELTMEISTER who became one of the most popular stallions in Oldenburg, he produced 34 approved stallions and 56 states premium mares. A couple of his most famous offspring are WALZERTAKT ridden by R. Dover, USA dressage and WARUM ridden by G. Wiltfang in jumping.
His dam FLEDERMAUS is a tall dressage type filly with elastic gaits. She has been professionally started and is extremely well balanced. Her sire FEUEROPAL, this stallion is a spectacular athlete with numerous winnings and placing in the high preliminary jumping competitions in Germany. FEUEROPAL is now being trained and will be shown by Doug Henry of Canada. FEUEROPAL's sire, WERTHER, is a son of the famous WENDEKREIS who has sired such stallions as WAGNER, WENDELIN, WENDENBURG, WENDLAND II, WENDULAN and WILDFANG. Also in his pedigree is the stallion MARCIO XX, most noted for producing ride ability. On his mother's side FEUEROPAL goes back to one of the greatest Trakehner stallions that ever lived, IMPULS. This horse has 16 approved sons and produced such horses as DAHLWITZ who was ridden by Edith Master of the USA Olympic Team in Montreal in 1976. Also on his mother's side is WINNETOU, a son of FERDINAND, who sired horses like WIDUKIND, international show jumper, ridden by Eric Wauters of Belgium, FERDL, team jumping gold medalist at the 1960 Olympics, ridden by Alvin Schockemoehle, MEHMED, gold medalist 1976 Olympics, ridden by Dr. Reimer Klimke, and FLIPPER, an international show jumper ridden by Hugo Simon. Her dam BROOK'S CROWN is a large framed Swedish mare. She has herself successfully competed in 3 day eventing in the USA. Her dam is by THREE CROWNS, he was a very successful upper level dressage horse. She goes back to the famous stallion CHAGALL who produced the world famous stallion and Olympic bronze medalist GAUGUIN DE LULLY.
